On Monday, our Forum had its one-day summer retreat at the New Jersey shore.  One of our activities was a 12-mile bike ride.

Exercise (or lack of it) is one of my weaknesses in life.  If I had set out on a bike ride independently, I suspect I would have made it 2 miles.  But this time, I was with my group of friends, all about my age, and I was determined to keep up.  When we got off the bikes, my body was like jelly.

The experience was a wake-up call for me.  My friends were a little sweaty but okay; I could hardly walk on Tuesday morning. This time, the power of the Forum made me acknowledge my weakness (there was nowhere to hide), and now I am making a plan to work on it.

I will keep you all posted on my progress !! Thanks for listening.
